7 Baby Accessories You Didn’t Know You Needed

A lot of things they don’t tell you about having a baby. To be fair, even with all the books and blogs out there about what it is to be a parent to a newborn, you can’t possibly anticipate everything. It’s still very much learning on-the-go.

If you’ve recently had a baby, here are 7 baby accessories you probably didn’t know you needed. Eventually though, all us parents eventually come around to recognizing another shopping trip’s probably worth the sanity that would come after it.

Infant Spoons

Let’s face it, babies are a mess. They like to chew things and explore. This doesn’t bode well for cutlery. Infant spoons are plastic, easy on their teeth, comfortable in the mouth, and the shallowness of the spoon ensures a baby’s not eating too much in any one bite.

Faucet Extender

A faucet extender is meant for the bathroom sink. It brings the water closer to kids for them to wash their hands. Ideally, you want one that is non-toxic and durable enough to last years. Living.ca’s a great place to shop for faucet extenders and other baby accessories on this list.

Kids Toy Organizer

A kids toy organizer keeps their toys in one place. It also teaches them about the value of organization. A baby will eventually grow into using theirs independently but for now, it will at minimum prevent you from stepping on any of their toys just lying around.

Baby Grooming Set

To keep our babies looking their best, we can’t use the same tools we would use on ourselves. Babies need gentler, smaller tools to work around their size. A baby grooming set has it all – a hairbrush, baby nail clipper, and safety scissors.

Child Safety Cabinet Latch

Babies and young children are curious about everything. If they don’t already, they will want access to your cabinets. A child safety cabinet latch installs easily through an adhesive and prevents your child from accessing potentially dangerous things or getting hurt by going into cabinets and places they shouldn’t be.

Baby Mosquito Net Cover

A baby mosquito net cover can fit over a crib, a car seat, a stroller, or whatever you need. Protection from mosquitoes will keep your baby safe and unbitten this summer, no matter the conditions. It also goes without saying but the mosquito netting also prevents contact with bees, hornets, and flying insects of all varieties.

Ring Sling Baby Wrap Carrier

For what’s been described as ‘uterine-like security’, this ring sling baby wrap carrier is used in carrying infants and newborns, to aid in breastfeeding, and to help in making your baby feel protected and safe.
