3 Tips for Teachers Getting Ready for Back to School

Back to school is that time of year that everyone needs to be a little more prepared, a little more thought out, a little more organized. At Living.ca, we’ve got all the back-to-school supplies and back-to-school accessories you’ll need as an educator to make sure the first few weeks go off without a hitch!

  1. Prepare everything you can

It’s absolutely vital to the first few days of class that everything you and your students need is ready at hand, whether it’s photocopies of letters, forms, and posters, pencils, pencil cases, or duotangs, you’ve only got so much time to get everything in order before the first day of class begins.

If you need it, order it. Living.ca and its sister sites offer free shipping anywhere in Canada on all orders of 5 products or more, as well as on any order of $29 and up, till the end of July. Our warehouses are located in Montreal and Vancouver, so no matter where you are in the country, you’ll get what you need in time for September.

Have you got enough materials for student activities? Do you have a bulletin board for important notices? Whatever you need, we’ve got it. Shop today and get the best deals on back-to-school supplies big and small.

  1. Draft your classroom blueprints

Start sketching your classroom setup out in advance, so you know that every student has a comfortable view of the front of the class, resources, and doorways. It’s your classroom and knowing that there’s enough seating for your class is just step one on dreaming up your homeroom for the next year.

Plan out where group activities and projects can take place. Do you have enough room for that, or will you need to compensate for moving desks around to do so? Figure out where students can read, perhaps near the classroom library, on a rug in the corner of the room. Do you have more than one white- or blackboard? Desktop computers? Make a room layout that benefits you and your students by giving them the opportunity to use all the resources available in class.

  1. Get organized!

Here at Living.ca, we pride ourselves on providing ample storage and organization tools for every lifestyle. Some of the best options available for young students and their teachers are the SortWise™ 4-Tier Kids Book Rack and the SortWise™ Kids Toy Organizer.

What’s most important is making sure everything operates smoothly. If you and your students know where to find blank paper, pens and pencils, arts and crafts supplies, books, toys, and whatever else you need, then the first month will simply fly by!
